One of the biggest methods of making more room in your budget is by Frugal Living Through Coupons. Not only are coupons a great way to save money, they are a great way to put great chunks of money back into your budget. While this week we won’t be covering all the ways you can use coupons, we are going to look at some great ways that coupons can help you save.
Combine coupons with sale prices for best savings. One of the most effective ways to use coupons is when you combine them with a sale price. If an item is regularly $2.99 but now on sale for $1.99 and you have a $1 off coupon you can get it for only $.99. This is a great way to save a lot of money on items you would typically use and purchase on sale anyway. Watch for sale prices on your favorite brands then combine with high value coupons for the best savings.
Stock up when at lowest price. Coupons that bring items down to bargain bin prices or even free also give you a chance to stock up on those items when they are at their lowest prices. This is perfect for the times when you want to get a lot of one item you use frequently. Instead of paying $2.99 for your favorite shampoo every month, you can get it for $.99 after coupons. Buy 12 bottles of it when at that low price after coupons and you have saved $24 already for the year. Multiply that times the hundreds of household items and foods you can get at discounts with coupons and you can see thousands of dollars in savings.
Use for all purchases. Coupons aren’t just for food and household products. They are great for things like school supplies, clothing purchases, book purchases and even tools or furniture. There are rarely stores that don’t offer some kind of reward or coupon with a sign up for their email newsletter. Everything from your hardware store to a fast food chain will offer coupons to save you money on purchases.
Frugal living through coupons is easy when you take the time to look for ones you will use. You can find great useful coupons in your local newspaper, online to print, direct from product or company brands and even through your email. Before you make any purchase, research to see if the company, brand or product has a coupon available to provide you with a discount.
