Homemade Turkey Apple Cinnamon Sausage is a delicious Weight Watchers friendly recipe to add to your breakfast recipe ideas.

Mornings are definitely not my favorite time of the day. I stay up later than I should at night, so I end up dragging myself out of bed when the alarm clock rings.

Somedays that means I don’t have time to fuss with a breakfast recipe that is too involved or difficult to prepare. Instead of grabbing a banana as I run around getting ready for the day, I started prepping these apple cinnamon turkey sausage patties in advance so I can pop them in the microwave and throw together a more appealing breakfast on the fly.

For this recipe, you’ll want to use a loose, ground sausage. Do not use a link sausage as it will be too dry. What kind of apple should I use? For tartness, go with a Granny Smith apple. For sweetness, try a honeycrisp or braeburn apple.

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

Yes! This recipe can be made up to two days in advance. Just cook the sausage and apples according to the recipe instructions, then store in an airtight container in the fridge until you’re ready to eat. Enjoy!

You can also freeze these patties so that they are ready to be thawed out and heated up whenever you need them. I just pop them onto a paper towel and stick them in the microwave. You can also heat them up in the oven, toaster oven, or the air fryer.
