#OREOCookieBalls #CollectiveBias. Yes, you did read the title correctly, Bacon OREO Cookie Balls. Perfect finger food for your Game Day table!

Most Sundays you will find our family involved in some kind of sports watching frenzy. No matter what the sport is, if it’s on TV were watching.

And of course eating, too! I wanted some fun finger food desserts for our weekend football gathering, so OREO Cookie Balls was the perfect choice. I also wanted them to be a bit on the “manly” side.

Bacon OREO Cookie Balls - Fun and easy no-bake treat!

That’s where the bacon comes in. I don’t know too many guys (or gals) that don’t like bacon.

The crunchy chocolate sweetness of OREO Cookies combined with the slight smoky salty taste of bacon, had to be a perfect pairing and boy was I right!

Delicious! You know what they say, EVERYTHING is better with bacon!

White OREO Cookie Balls
OREO Table

We had a fun time making the OREO Cookie Balls. We used white melting chocolate and decorated them with sprinkles to show our support for our favorite team.

To display them on the football food table, I used strips of card stock, again that matched our favorite team colors and displayed the OREO cookie balls on them. Add football themed tableware and some football cut outs and your food gets a fun football display.

I like to put out a fun tablescape, that still looks good, even when the food is gone!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg., 8 oz. brick cream cheese, softened
  • 36 OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 3 cups)
  • 4 pkg., 4 oz. each semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 cup REAL Bacon Bits, Optional

Instructions

  1. MIX cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended.
  2. Add bacon bits and mix well. (optional)
  3. SHAPE into 48 (1-inch) balls.
  4. Freeze 10 min.
  5. Dip balls in melted chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan.
  6. CUSTOMIZE it with your own ingredient additions or decorative skills.
  7. REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm.

We chose to decorate some of our OREO Cookie Balls with the white melting chocolate and add colored sprinkles. The OREO Cookie Balls that were coated with semi-sweet chocolate got a double whammy of bacon goodness.

Not only was the bacon inside the treat, but we sprinkled it on the top too. If you choose to decorate or customize your version of OREO Cookie Balls, be sure to have those decorations ready. The melting chocolate, hardens quickly and I don’t want you to miss the chance to pretty them up.

OREO

The Bacon OREO Cookie Balls didn’t last long on the football party food table. Everyone was intrigued by the bacon and some were even unsure if they wanted to try them. But guess what?

They loved them! If you add bacon bits to your recipe, make sure to use the REAL bacon bits, not the imitation kind. You can find the real bacon bits near the salad dressing at Walmart.

Do you plan to try the Bacon OREO Cookie Balls or stick to the traditional recipe?
